Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you use ChefHub, we collect:

• Account data — name, email address, password (hashed), and role (viewer or chef)
• Profile data — display name, avatar, cuisine preferences, and bio (optional)
• Transaction data — subscription status, payment history, and tip amounts processed through Stripe. We do not store raw card numbers.
• Usage data — videos watched, chefs followed, bookings made, and content interactions
• Health data (optional) — if you opt into Transform, weight and nutrition logs you choose to enter
• Device data — IP address, browser type, and general location for security and analytics

2. How We Use Your Data

• To operate and improve the Platform
• To process payments and transfers to chefs
• To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, subscription receipts)
• To send notifications you have opted into (chef live alerts, new video alerts)
• To personalize your feed and recommendations
• To detect fraud and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Sharing Your Data

We share data only with the following parties:

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Mux — video streaming and storage
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Checkr — background screening for approved chefs
• Law enforcement — when required by law or to protect the safety of users

4. Health Data

The Transform feature is entirely optional. If you choose to log weight or nutrition data, that data is stored securely and is visible only to you. We do not share it with chefs, other users, or advertisers. You may delete your health data at any time from your account settings.

5. Cookies and Tracking

ChefHub uses session cookies required for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell behavioral data for ad targeting.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained for seven years for accounting and legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us — see Section 9.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and row-level security on all database tables. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

8. Children's Privacy

ChefHub is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Opt out of non-essential communications

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Platform evolves. We will notify users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
